Charles Schwab’s New Colorado Campus Opens for Business

Charles Schwab Colorado Campus by Fentress Architects

Denver, Colorado (October 1, 2014) – Charles Schwab, Fentress Architects and Mortenson Construction celebrated the opening of a 650,000-square-foot Charles Schwab campus that will be located on a 47- acre site in Lone Tree, Colorado. The corporate campus is composed of multiple office buildings that have great mountain views. The campus is also home to Schwab’s retail building that’s on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Park Meadows Boulevard. Fentress Architects, a Colorado headquartered firm that specializes in creating sustainable state-of-the-art office buildings, designed the entire facility to be LEED Gold or better.

Fentress did a full evaluation and analysis of two sites in search of the perfect location. After extensive consideration they concluded that RidgeGate in Lone Tree would best suit their needs. Largely due to the welcoming community, close vicinity to bike paths, parks, trails, the Lone Tree Recreation Center, the Lone Tree Arts Center, and a range of shops and restaurants within walkable distance. The site is also adjacent to a planned RTD Light Rail stop.

The new campus includes a two-story retail branch building, three five-story office buildings, two parking garages and a centrally located amenities building that features a 15,000-square-foot dining facility for employees.

With Charles Schwab’s goal of creating a pleasant, efficient work environment for employees, Fentress Architects’ design staggers the three buildings on the campus to capture views of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver skyline. Schwab also wanted to create an eco-friendly setting for its new campus and is pursuing LEED Platinum certification for the retail building. Sustainability features include a two-acre green roof, green materials, daylighting, water saving devices, and an optimized HVAC system.

Our corporate real estate team really outdid themselves with this project. You couldn’t wish for a better located, more functional and beautiful place to be, and the RidgeGate development offers so many amenities. We are really looking forward to becoming a part of the Lone Tree community.
Brian McDonald, senior vice president of Schwab Investor Services

To date, approximately 70 percent of the campus has been completed, with two of the three buildings ready for occupancy. The third building is expected to be completed in the summer of 2015.
