Leaders that help talent shine

J. Lee Glenn, AIA, NCARB

The way to do research is to attack the facts at the point of greatest astonishment. – Celia Green

For Lee Glenn, architectural design is a combination research project, creative exercise and execution challenge. With a belief that the core design drivers informing a project can only be discovered through a patient search for meaning, he begins projects with an open-ended discovery phase that explores program, context, goals, site and technical requirements.

Based on this research, Lee’s design teams develop a clear conceptual vision for each project and he ensures that it is consistently applied to guide the work. He provides design direction and informed judgement during all phases, including the development of technical components and building detailing that reinforce the project vision.

Through 30+ years of design experience, unique design solutions, elegant detailing and disciplined organization have been consistent traits of Lee’s career. For a significant part of this time he has focused on the aviation prototype in support of airport clients. Lee has led design teams for major aviation programs of over $1B, multiple programs of over $500M and for intimately scaled regional terminals. His clients include the busiest airports in the world in such diverse cities as Atlanta, San Francisco, Dallas, Seattle and Salt Lake City.

Lee has been recognized in multiple design awards programs for projects including international airport terminals, regional airport redevelopment, corporate relocations, master planning and custom residential. His work has been featured in architectural design and aviation industry publications and he has lectured both domestically and internationally on design topics.
