LGS Innovations

Virginia, Texas + Colorado

LGS’s new headquarters actively fosters human interaction and builds a strong sense of community with offices.

LGS Innovations delivers mission-critical technology solutions to high-profile clients, including the United States government. Fentress Architects modernized their formerly traditional workspaces in the headquarters at Herndon, Virginia as well as offices in San Antonio, Texas and Westminster, Colorado. The transformations—into open, light-filled environments that support innovation, creative thinking, and a collaborative practice—underscore the company’s forward-thinking culture.

Given the private and sensitive nature of LGS’s services, Fentress worked diligently to provide secure separation between public and private space, as well as to create appropriate separation to benefit both individual and group work. Fentress also employed a variety of furniture solutions in order to further align the interiors with LGS’s progressive and entrepreneurial spirit, flexible work style, and hands-on atmosphere. Standing desks, flexible lounge seating, high top tables with bar height task chairs, and conference rooms work in concert to create opportunities for formal and informal workshops, brainstorming sessions, focused work, and one-on-one meetings.

LGS Headquarters

LGS’s new headquarters actively fosters human interaction and builds a strong sense of community with offices that feature fully glazed, interior glass walls. Likewise, meeting spaces are strategically located to reinforce a transparent and synergistic environment, which has been replicated in satellite offices.

Technology-driven design was employed in the creation of a custom wall panel system and ceiling baffles that were inspired by the sine wave. These function to unite the boardroom, reception area, elevator lobby, and employee café.
