Birthplace of some of the world’s greatest technologies, Silicon Valley’s reputation permeates Fentress’ high-tech design for Terminal B.
San Jose has been called the “most technologically advanced airport,” by Airport World Magazine.
From its public art – possibly the world’s largest digital art program – to its innovative seating – the nation’s first Air Chair, providing electrical outlets and conditioned air from the base – the airport is an icon for Silicon Valley’s high-tech reputation. As the largest U.S. design-build airport project, San Jose’s modernization included a new Terminal B, renovation and expansion of Terminal A, a consolidated rental car garage, surface parking and roadway improvements.
Terminal B is the first passenger terminal in the western United States to be certified LEED Silver.
