St. Louis Justice Center + Juvenile Detention Center Expansion

St. Louis County, Missouri, USA

Fentress’ design transforms the outdated St. Louis County Courts, originally built in the early 1970s, into a modern, state-of-the-art facility.

The six-story expansion and renovation project consolidated the Family Court – including juvenile detention – with the Circuit Court into more modern, state-of-the-art facility at the St. Louis County Court Complex.
The new building is a modern, highly functional, and sustainable unified Courts Complex with:
  • 43 courtrooms,
  • general office space,
  • customer service areas,
  • 63,000-square-foot juvenile detention facility,
  • 64 detention sleeping cells,
  • educational space,
  • conference + meeting rooms,
  • public spaces, storage, and operational support areas.

The courts complex is an energy efficient, accessible and secure facility that will serve St. Louis County well into the future.
