About Christopher
Chris brings over two decades of experience in interior architecture and design. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, he moved to Colorado in 2003, where he built a career centered on creating spaces that prioritize occupant well being, with a particular sensitivity to the needs of neurodivergent users.
Chris’s interest in architecture was sparked in high school when a classmate introduced him to the works of Frank Lloyd Wright. A visit to Wright’s buildings in Chicago with his mother solidified his passion for the field. This early inspiration has evolved into a career dedicated to enhancing the user experience within built environments, especially in complex spaces like aviation.
At Fentress, Chris applies his expertise in supporting design teams in quality improvement, ensuring code compliance, selecting appropriate materials, and creating well-detailed documentation. He most identifies with the Fentress Touchstone™ “Discover the Natural Order”, believing that good design begins with organizing large, chaotic spaces – particularly within airports – by managing elements like signage, lighting, and acoustics to help users feel grounded and calm in busy environments.
Chris is active in the industry, holding membership in the IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter and authorization as a Secondary CTE Teach for Interior Design and Architecture from the Colorado Department of Education.
Outside of work, Chris finds balance through nature, enjoying time on a hobby cattle ranch, camping with his kids, and taking on endurance cycling trips – a refreshing contrast to the structured world of architecture.
