Jennifer Simms

Jennifer Simms joined Fentress Architects as Controller in 2024, bringing with her a unique blend of financial expertise and a passion for teaching creatives about the business side of design. Originally from Alexandria, VA, Jen’s journey into accounting began when she took a part-time position in the field and quickly discovered her love for it. Since then, she has dedicated her career to helping others navigate the often-complex world of financial strategy.

With over ten years of experience in the AEC industry, Jen’s favorite aspect of her role is bridging the gap between creative vision and financial clarity. Her approach aligns perfectly with the Fentress Touchstone™ “Listen Closely,” as she believes listening is key to providing the right financial insights that support innovative designs. She enjoys demystifying financial processes and empowering designers to think strategically about the business aspects of their work.

Outside of work, Jen has a variety of interests, including a love for plants, Broadway shows, and Formula 1 racing. She is also involved in her community as a registered volunteer at a local pet shelter, where she dedicates time to supporting animals in need.
