A successful downtown revitalization effort, North Las Vegas’ new City Hall consolidates the city’s departments into a one-stop-shop offering convenience, efficiency and navigation ease for city staff and residents.
Fentress designers derived inspiration from traditional civic architecture, applying classic rhythms, a tri-partite massing, and a “civic” material palette on the design of the new City Hall. The color palette borrows from the native desert environment for its sand colored granite.
To protect the building interior from the desert sun and reduce heat gain, the architecture incorporates a shaded classic entry arcade and sun shading cap on the rooftop. Outside, the civic plaza serves as a gathering place and is designed to accommodate stage performances and music festivals.
