Working within an ambitious 30-month design-build schedule, the facility successfully provides a state-of-the-art data center, collaboration center for training sessions, dining hall, wellness center and various retail amenities.
The Russell-Knox office building efficiently co-locates elements of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Defense Security Service, Naval Criminal Investigative Services, Air Force Office of Special Investigations and Army Criminal Investigation Command into a single building. It has been deemed one of the most cutting-edge military investigative facilities in the United States. According to one agency official, the combination of these agencies under one roof will offer military leadership “world-wide situational awareness.” The project challenged Fentress Architects to efficiently combine all five agencies into a single facility while also maintaining a strong brand identity for each group.
