The courthouse comprises two buildings at the intersection of Gleason Drive and Hacienda Drive. A five-story courthouse for the Alameda County Superior Court of California contains 13 courtrooms and associated support spaces and facilities for clerks, jury assembly, and in-custody holding cells, for a total of approximately 156,000 square feet. The second building is the 43,000-square-foot, two-story Alameda County Judicial Office Building that provides office space for the Public Defender, District Attorney, and the Probation Department. The two sites include approximately 20 acres of landscaping and parking for 784 cars, including secured parking for judicial staff.
The state-of-the-art facility incorporates the latest in technology and sustainability, and new security will ensure a safe environment for all users.
The project is certified LEED Silver.
