About
John has brought a wealth of experience and expertise to his role since joining the firm in 1982. His passion for architecture was ignited in middle school when his uncle gifted him a book on great architecture through the ages. This early inspiration led him to take an architectural design course in high school, where designing a home for his family solidified his decision to pursue a career in architecture.
John’s areas of expertise are vast and impactful, encompassing project management, building code, and innovative design. His portfolio features landmark projects such as the Colorado Convention Center, Pasadena Convention Center, Palm Springs Convention Center, Miami Beach Convention Center, Clark County Government Center, and the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX.
John’s design philosophy aligns closely with the Touchstone™ “Listen Closely.” He believes that understanding clients’ goals and inspirations through attentive listening is crucial for building relationships of trust and respect–ultimately clients achieve their visions.
In addition to his work at Fentress, John contributes to the architectural community as a guest lecturer at the University of Denver’s Construction Management program and a panelist for Colorado State University’s Construction Management program. Outside of work, John is a skilled potter, inspired by architectural aesthetics, and is an active participant and member of his community.
