Research 2 at University of Colorado at Denver

Aurora, Colorado, USA

Research 2 meets the diverse day-to-day clinical and basic science research requirements of the University.

Fentress’ design for Research 2 echoes the architectural vocabulary of Research 1.  It is also the most recent addition at the University of Colorado, Denver’s new research park.

This second structure focuses on flexibility to meet the day-to-day requirements of the diverse clinical and basic science research conducted inside. The building reflects a compatible contemporary aesthetic, with clean lines and an accent on glass, metal and brick. Along with laboratory space, the building features amenities such as a ground-floor coffee shop, two-story corner break rooms adjacent to lab floors and numerous daylit conference rooms — all designed to facilitate communication and collaboration among researchers.  Research 2 was designed in association with Kling Stubbins.
