Venues that Enhance Community
Given Fentress Architects’ humanistic mission—that a building must work well for its users and speak of and to its culture and community—every project in our portfolio is technically an example of community architecture. That said, this collection features venues that support organized events including sporting events, worship services, and performances.
Every year hundreds of thousands of people gather in Fentress-designed facilities. The firm’s portfolio of venues has garnered over 30 honors and awards including:
- Mile Hi Church, Grand Prize Winner, AWCI Colorado, 2008
- Semper Fidelis Memorial Park Chapel, Merit Award, Gold Nugget, Awards Pacific Coast Builders Conference, 2011
- Broncons Stadium at Mile High Merit Award, AIA Denver, 2003
“The new stadium, with an open-ended horseshoe shape, honors tradition without being bound by it. The architects chose to incorporate a sense of tradition into a futuristic look instead of a trendy retro design.” – Panstadia International; A Tale of Two Cities, January 2001
